Society of the Old West

From early westward expansion through the early 20th Century.

The High Chaparral, a western series that hasn't been seen on TV in years, makes its return next Saturday September 15th on INSP TV. A 12 hour marathon of the popular program begins at 1 pm eastern time. A couple of weeks later, starting Saturday September 29th, The High Chaparral will become part of INSP TV "Saddle Up Saturdays" line up which includes such westerns as The Virginian, Bonanza and Dr. Quinn-Medicine Woman.

Set in 1870s southern Arizona the show depicts the ranch life of the stalwart Cannon family while they deal with Apaches, Desperados, Mexican Bandits and other characters of the Old West.

Such episodes included stories about Cochise, Geronimo, Buckskin Frank Leslie, Johnny Ringo and Doc Holiday.

Filmed at Old Tucson Studios there were 98 episodes that appeared on NBC TV for 4 seasons from September 10, 1967 to March 12, 1971.

The High Chaparral stars Leif Erickson, Cameron Mitchell, Henry Darrow and Linda Crystal. If you want to catch a good western, well Saddle Up next Sarurday and mosey on over to the High Chaparral.

Glad to hear it.  I grew up watching The High Chapparral, but I've never heard of the channel that's broadcasting it.  I have Direct TV, but have not noticed it in the TV guide.
