Used to be back in the day when a handshake or a verbal agreement sealed the deal. Is such still possible today? Shake of a hand meant  'I'll do the best I can for you Boss- don't matter if I"m riding for $ 40 and found. I will do all I can. And if its wrong I'll make it right",

Thanks for the comments. Honor ain't what it used to be. Today there seems to be only small pockets of something that was often part of ones character. A matter of principle I suppose.

It certainly was in rural Missouri.  A man's word was bond.  Nowhere else that I have been could you count on it.  Missouri folk are too stubborn to waffle.
